Why are you only open Fridays, saturdays, and sundays?
We are only open those days in order to keep staffing costs down. We will happily make appointments on other days of the week for people who truly can't make it on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Call 352-848-4222 to make an appointment or if you have any further questions.
Do you take any insurance plans?
Short answer: No. Long answer: Most people find our regular prices are less than they usually pay when using their insurance benefits at other private practices or large, retail chains.
Do you have a doctor on the premises?
No. We have Florida-licensed opticians who fill eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions. We can also determine your current eyeglass prescription and duplicate it to make you a new pair! It is recommended that most people have an eye exam every two years. We have great relationships with some of the best optometrists and ophthalmologists in Pasco and Hernando counties and are happy to refer you to them. How much do eyeglasses or contacts cost?
That's kind of like asking how much does a new car cost! We have glasses as low as $29 complete. The most expensive pair at Max might cost @ $400. But our prices average about 50% below industry prices, That's not hype...that's the truth. Can we save you as much on contact lenses? Nope. There's just not a lot of mark-up on contacts. We can save you a few bucks but not like eyeglasses. Call us with your Rx and we'll give you a price.
I didn't buy my glasses at max, but my frame just broke. What now?
Many optical shops will tell you they can't do anything. The real answer is they don't WANT to do anything other than sell you a whole new pair. Truth is, if you come in to Max we can usually find a new frame in which to fit your old lenses, and have you on your way in a matter of minutes. Replacement frames start as low as $19.
How long does it take to get NEW glasses MADE?
Usually a week or sooner. Ninety percent of orders placed on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday are usually ready by the next Saturday. Specialty Rxs (really strong prescriptions, mirrored lenses, etc.) can sometimes take two weeks.
Are your glasses guaranteed?
At Max Optics, it is guaranteed your glasses will be made EXACTLY to your doctor's prescription. All frames are UNCONDITIONALLY guaranteed for one year against breakage.
