As many of you know, Max Optics suffered a lot of damage to its fixtures and stock due to the effects of Hurricane Helene.
After much consideration and soul-searching, I have decided to permanently close Max Optics.
I know many of you will be disappointed or angry at the loss of Max. I would ask you to remember the famous quote attributed to none other than Dr. Seuss:
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
I am happy and grateful to have met so many of you over the past 30 years and to provide great eye care to more than 15,000 clients. I estimate that those clients saved more than $ 2 million dollars on the eyeglasses and contact lenses they purchased.
Without exception, effective immediately I will be unable to provide any more optical services. Previous clients should seek optical services elsewhere.
Pursuant to Florida Administrative Code 64B12, Max Optics is only required to provide a copy of your eyeglass or contact lens prescription if you made a purchase within the previous two years.
To obtain a fax or email copy of any prescription filled at Max Optics between November 1o, 2022 and November 10, 2024, please email your request to:
Please include your name and date of birth and the email address or fax number where you wish to receive the Rx. Please allow 48 hours for delivery. (We will also be happy to mail you a copy of your prescription. If you wish your prescription delivered via USPS, be sure to include the address where you would like it to be mailed.)
Remember, too, that your original prescribing optometrist or ophthalmologist should also be able to provide the prescription.
Finally, you should also be aware that any optical shop has the ability and legal prerogative to read your prescription from your current lenses and make you a new pair of eyeglasses without having to have an actual, written prescription.
